What is Business Mentoring?
Practical support in the development of leadership and management skills in either a one-to-one or group basis
How is it different to business advice or consultancy?
Business mentoring focuses on the personal development of the individual leader or manager, not necessarily on the client’s business. However, mentoring is proven to be highly successful in helping businesses to grow. Our aim is to create a facilitated transitional learning environment where leaders can expand their leadership skills and work through opportunities and challenges in an agreed confidential manner with an unbiased, qualifed, experienced and safe pair of hands.
What is one-to-one mentoring?
A flexible, personal relationship, driven by individual needs. A client will be matched with an experienced, dedicated mentor who will support their management development over a 6-12 month period, typically a couple of hours a month. A business mentor acts as a role model and sounding board, offers knowledge and insight, and motivates the client to develop their ability and potential.
What is group mentoring?
A group of 6-8 like-minded business leaders who meet regularly, typically 2-3 hours a month over a six month period, with the support of an accredited mentor/ facilitator who helps them to explore their development needs and to resolve mutual problems and issues. This type of business mentoring offers managers, who may feel isolated at the top, an opportunity to work together with peers upon shared challenges and potential areas for development and growth.
What’s the main difference between the two delivery styles of business mentoring?
One-to-one mentoring is more dedicated support within a personal relationship, which can be tailored to the individual client.
Group mentoring is aimed at individuals from organisations who prefer a action learning set or group approach to mentoring.
